...Why are there so many bungholes that insist upon thinking that
politely letting a person know that they may be ejected if they do not
follow a rule means that I am threatening them, and thereupon also
insist on saying "fine, I'll play by the rules, but you'd do well not
to threaten me"?
I mean, holy crap, that's the fifth time I've heard that in two weeks.
A) I was not threatening you, you idiots. I was (POLITELY!) letting
you know that, if you continued to do the thing I'm warning you about,
you are going to be ejected. There is no threat in that, it's just a
simple truth.
B) Even if I was threatening you, what the hell are you going to do
about it? THAT attempt at being a BMF anarchist is an empty threat
on its own, you jerks, and you know it. You have no idea who I am, and
I highly doubt your ability to hunt me down over teh internets. I wear
a tinfoil hat, and it shall protect me from your mindprobes!
C) ...Along that line of thought, it's over an EJECTION. A bloody
ejection. What the heck, you break a rule, you pay the consequence by
getting (OH NOEZ!) kicked out of the dream. Why must you insist upon
trying to make yourself look untouchable by authority when it isn't
going to affect you in any way in the long run, except maybe breaking
an RP? Heck, you could come right back into the dream after the
ejection, once I go offline. It's not a ban, it's a slap on the wrist.
D) You! Yes, you, tonight! When I said 'thank you' to you, it was
because you decided to remove the thing in your description that was
objectionable, and I was glad that I wasn't going to have to get all
angry over your stubbornness and eject you. You seemed rational and
didn't appear to be wearing a dunce cap, and I didn't want to do that.
I do not LIKE having to eject folk, contrary to what some folk
believe. I do it because some people are incurable asshats who seem to
think that rules are for the (insert word for cat here) who are whipped by dream staff.
No. No, they are not, they are nice people who get along wonderfully
with us, and everything goes happy-dandy in kitsu-land. When I say
thank you, DO NOT SAY "don't thank me, rules are rules". I was being
POLITE, you misbegotten son of a beggar and a camel. Ask yourself, do
you want me to growl at you like an irritable bear in heat, or shriek
at you as a banshee possessed and whack you with the ejecthammer so
fast that you don't have time to blink? No, no you don't. Accept
civilization - either say nothing, or a 'you're welcome', and move on.
For crying out loud, all of you, grow up.
println("Rant brought to you by lack of sleep and too much homework.");
endRant();
