Just running my mouth on some things, mostly, but I feel like it's about time I explained to people why I, at least, am so rigid about keeping to the lore.
AKP, for me, is not just a dream, is not just a place to RP. This dream, well, other than being a love and obsession, is an educational experience. I love mythology. I soak it up when I can. And as I try to learn what is the real legend behind kitsune, I want others to be taught as well. It's not just a roleplay zone, it's a classroom. I want people to learn good roleplay skills, and to learn about kitsune.
This is also why, when I find some inconsistency or something that I found in my interpretation to be wrong (afetr finding a re-wording), I try to get it corrected and clarified (I haven't done this a whole lot because I don't freaking have time to look things up lately x.x).
For example, I personally would like to see the link all about Inari put up on the website, or at least to have people look in that thread and see it there. I can't remember which thread it's in now, but it talks about Inari as a human god - Inari and The Lady being two separate entities. The Lady is the ten-tailed one, and nothing else is ever said about her. Inari is the god kitsune serve - they are his/her messengers.
But the point is, I want this to be educational as well as fun. I dont want newbies walking away with the wrong impression of kitsune and getting laighed at by people who know their way around the lore. That is why I am so strict. That is why I will badger you and try and get out a good reason if something about your character is too inconsistent with the knowledge of kitsune I have. And some people have given me very good reasons, so I back off and move on. But if I get annoyed at you or bother you about something ingrained in your character, try not to be offended, because I, too, have a reason. And hopefully I have explained it well enough.
On a final note, please, please I BEG you, take a moment to THINK about what opposing elements would do to your character. I'm seeing a lot of people with polar opposites lately and it's beginning to drive me a little nuts.
(Stay tuned for your next random rambling from Lady Hakumei!)
